This morning I woke early to a tap on the arm from Che. He wanted so desperately to tell me about his Lego City Police Station. And so, for the first fifteen minutes of my day, I listened to the 'story' of the instruction booklet; how the bits attach to the blocks to make walls and windows. I was most impressed by the coffee machine on the second level of the station - it seems the Lego police officers have a penchant for a cappuccino, naturally.
I got up soon after to make breakfast, reply to emails and shower (loving these natural hair products and this vitalising facial scrub). I've been feeling a little bleh after a sweet and sugary Christmas so I headed to the local organic store for blueberries, natural yoghurt, bananas and almonds. Preparing such snacks mindfully, eating them slowly.
Later we'll head to the ocean for an evening swim. I've packed a salad, some rye bread, hommus and drinks. We'll stay at the beach till sunset and then we'll drive home for a bath and bedtime stories.
Summer is wonderfully repetitive.

I recognise this beach! I don't live far from here. LOVE your blog by the way, you have inspired me to create my own.... only 4 days into it but we'll see how it goes.

ReplyDeleteThere's something soothing about having a day at the beach that is unequaled to anything I can presently think of. If you can avoid the full sun shine and secure a shady place to take in the surrounds, it's perfect.

ReplyDeleteI love days at the beach... I started my day at Clovelly, then walked to Coogee to read in the shade. Perfect. Your day sounds wonderful :) This weekend I'll stock up on yummy food at the markets, I've missed going these past few weeks while there's been a Christmas break x
ReplyDeleteWe spent yesterday morning at the lagoon and watched all the kids ride the waves as the tide came in with the water rising from our ankles to our thighs. I wasn't feeling my best when I ventured out but seeing everyone having so much fun, including my own children, against the amazing blue sky was enough to get me breathing again. Such a lovely time of year.

ReplyDeleteLou, I'm with you on this one. I saw the word "summer" and had to fumble around in the back of my head trying to remember what the sky could look like without rain and grey/black clouds.

Our last 3 weekends in Australia. We are spending as much time near the water and in the outdoors as possible. We will be dropped into the dead of winter in the US so this summer, here, is so precious.
